A concussion can affect much more than the head.
Because the brain helps regulate balance, eye movements, cardiovascular function, digestion, sleep, movement, and the stress response, symptoms after a concussion can appear throughout the body.
Even after the initial injury has been medically evaluated, some people continue to experience problems involving balance, vision, concentration, headaches, fatigue, digestion, coordination, and nervous-system regulation.
Our evaluation looks for specific areas of brain-body function that may still be struggling after an injury.
Common concerns include:
- Persistent post-concussion symptoms
- Dizziness or imbalance
- Visual motion sensitivity
- Difficulty focusing or processing information
- Brain fog
- Headaches
- Fatigue
- Sleep disturbances
- Nausea or digestive changes
- Autonomic nervous system changes
- Coordination difficulties
- Postural-control problems
Care is provided after appropriate medical evaluation and is designed to complement, not replace, necessary medical care.
