The purpose of our initial consultation is so we can get to know each other.
During a brief conversation and review of your health history, we try to determine if you’re a good candidate for chiropractic care. We’ll ask a few questions and do a lot of listening.
The consultation also gives you an opportunity to tour our office, interview Dr. Starkman and learn a bit more about our approach to chiropractic. Since chiropractic is a partnership approach to better health, it’s important that you’re comfortable with the personalities, procedures and policies of our office. Our complimentary consultation is a great way to find that out.
If we don’t think we can help, we’ll tell you. If we think we can, and you agree, we can usually proceed to the next step, which is a thorough examination.
If our consultation suggests that you’d likely be helped with chiropractic care, we’ll need to perform a complete examination. This includes:
Identifies spinal distortions and stress patterns, long term subluxation adaptations, structural weakness, and muscle imbalance. Muscle Testing locates areas of nerve interference and muscle weakness.
The AcuGraph® Digital Meridian Imaging™ system is like a high-tech tool for acupuncture. It helps us understand how energy flows through your body's acupuncture pathways.
With this insightful data at our disposal, we can craft tailored treatment plans that address your unique health concerns with greater accuracy.
Drawing from these insights, your treatment may involve needle-less acupuncture techniques and additional non- acupuncture treatments to help you reach
your health goals.

The purpose of this scan is to offer a patient "evidence" of how their body is responding to stress, and how it may be subsequently degrading their health.
The data acquired from the HRV scan answers these overarching questions:
"Are you handling your stress, or is your stress handling you?"
"How is stress affecting different parts of your body?"
"Is stress aging you prematurely?"
"How is stress affecting your metabolism?"
"Is stress depleting your brain function and energy levels?"
Doing the initial HRV scan gives patients tangible, visual measurements, and objective data for what would normally be intangible physiological concepts concerning how their health may be suffering.
The HRV shows how stress has major downstream effects on the body. It also serves as a practical tool for the doctor to monitor and resolve underlying issues at the root cause level.
If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it!
The HRV provides an assessment of a patient's health status as well as a determination of treatment efficiency. We scan patients on their first visit and compare scans on the 11-12 Visit.
The report provides a visual representation of the body's response to implemented treatment efforts and provides feedback, serving as a guide to gauge the success of or make changes to a treatment plan for improved results.
Diagnostic imaging can help locate any bone abnormalities, fractures and reveal your spine’s phase of spinal decay. If x-rays are necessary, you will be referred to a nearby specialist.
If the doctor feels he can help you and should you decide to begin care that day, you will be given your first adjustment and any therapies that may be necessary. Treatment is interactive, so you can express any concerns you may have regarding different styles of treatment.
You will then meet with Dr. Starkman for your Report of Findings, this is when we review what we found, explain what these findings mean, recommend a course of action and discuss the results you can expect from chiropractic care in our office. Feel free to ask any questions as we go along.
We’ll also offer answers to the four questions most patients have when they consult our office:
After your Report of Findings, the next step is to determine the Care Plan you will need to achieve your desired outcome.
Using your goals as a guide, a plan will be created that is right for you. We will make recommendations on products and services we offer to live a life free of pain and continue on your journey to optimal wellness.
Depending on your condition, this could include chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, massage therapy, laser therapy, orthotics, nutrition and back/neck products from pillows to mattresses. It’s really up to you.
Available Care Plans will be suggested to match your health and financial concerns. We have a caring and bilingual staff that will work with you to create a plan that’s best for you and your family.
Our job here at Oasis Chiropractic Center is to offer you the very best chiropractic care possible. It’s your job to decide how much of it you want.
Just like your first visit you will then go into your very own treatment room where you will receive Chiropractic Care and any other services you have opted for as a part of your Care Plan.
You should allow approximately 35 to 45 Minutes for your second visit.
On a regular office visit for just an adjustment a member of our team will greet you in our waiting room and get you situated in your very own treatment room / space, where you can lie down and relax on our Neck Massager which has gentle vibration and special neck movements, or on the Chi Swing which produces a wave-like motion from the ankles up through the spine, similar to the tranquil movement of swimming fish. This relaxing time allows for your body to better accept the adjustment process.
A common concern for patients after the investment of the first and second visits is that every visit will be of equal length.
In one word: No. A typical office visit may require just 10 to 20 minutes for an adjustment, or up to an hour if you've scheduled other services like, Acupuncture, Brain Spa, PEMF and/ or Cranio Sacral Therapy etc. You can click below for the list of all our services.

A member of our staff will give you a better estimate of how much time you can expect to spend with us once you've scheduled your visit and we've booked your treatments.
But don’t think the brevity of a regular chiropractic adjustment visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, the doctor can quickly identify the needs of your spine and nervous system, take care of you and get you on your way.
Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and we can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes, that’s why keeping scheduled appointments is so important.
Now, if you have scheduled any extra services after your adjustment our staff will guide you to the respected room for the next phase of your care.
Depending on the services you are receiving, the order of your adjustment or services may change based on scheduling availability. Rest assured that the order of care does not affect the effectiveness of the services our patients receive.
We recognize your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
